How CAT&MOUSE handles your data.

CAT&MOUSE is built to help users create challenges, track progress, and compare improvement over time. This policy explains what information we use, why we use it, and how users can manage or delete their data.

1. Information we collect

Account and profile information

When you create an account, we store your email address and the profile information you choose to add, such as your display name, avatar image, and weight logs.

Challenge and workout data

We store challenges you create or join, participant lists, selected exercises, baseline entries, daily progress updates, trophies, and related timestamps so the app can show progress, leaderboards, and results.

Device and notification data

If you enable notifications, we store a push notification device token so reminders and challenge updates can be delivered to your device.

2. Optional health and location data

Apple Health

If you choose to connect Apple Health, CAT&MOUSE reads running and cycling distance data that you explicitly allow. This access is used only to help you log eligible distance workouts inside the app.

GPS workout tracking

If you choose live distance tracking, the app accesses your location during the workout session to estimate outdoor running or cycling distance. This tracking is used for the active workout flow and the resulting distance you choose to save.

Manual fallback

Distance challenges can also be logged manually. Health and location permissions are optional and are not required to use the rest of the app.

3. How we use information

  • To create and manage challenges, rivalries, and leagues.
  • To calculate score changes, rankings, and trophies.
  • To save profile settings and reminder preferences.
  • To support optional notifications, Apple Health imports, and GPS workouts.
  • To provide account recovery, support, and account deletion.

4. How information is shared

  • Challenge participants can see challenge-related information that is needed for the shared experience, such as names, rankings, entries, and results.
  • We use service providers needed to run the app, including backend, authentication, database, storage, and notification services.
  • We do not sell personal information.

5. Retention and deletion

  • You can delete your account from the profile area in the app.
  • Account deletion is intended to remove your profile, avatar, trophies, challenge history, and stored progress tied to your account.
  • Some operational logs or backups may persist temporarily as part of normal service maintenance and recovery.

6. Your choices

  • You can choose whether to upload an avatar.
  • You can choose whether to enable reminder notifications.
